Durban - A bus driver, despite being wounded in a shooting, steered his bus to the Westville police station for help on Friday.

Four passengers were also wounded and have been taken to hospital.

ER24 spokesman, Russel Meiring, said the victims had sustained minor to moderate wounds during the incident in the Rodger Sishi (Blair Atholl) Road/M19 area.

Police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Thulani Zwane, said the bus stopped for an unknown man on the M19 at about 6.30am, assuming he was a passenger. He opened fire before fleeing the scene.

The motive for the shooting is unknown. Charges of attempted murder were opened at the Pinetown police station.
