Johannesburg -

Two months after a break-in at his house, former world boxing champion Dingaan Thobela said on Sunday that he has yet to hear from the police regarding the case.

“My son pointed out one of the men during an identity parade soon after the crime. I have not heard from the investigating officer ever since that time,” he told Sapa.

Dingaan, also known as “The Rose of Soweto” said he opened a case with the Sandton police after his house in Kelvin, Johannesburg, was ransacked by thieves in December.

They stole television sets, jewellery and other household goods. The robbers manhandled his 17-year-old son as they tried to get him to open a safe. He was alone in the house at the time.

“He is still traumatised, and does not want to be alone in the house again,” he said.

Sandton police were not immediately available for comment. - Sapa
