Four arrested for drugs in KZN

Durban - Four men were arrested in separate cases for possession of drugs in KwaZulu-Natal on Friday, police said.

Colonel Jay Naicker said a 22-year-old was arrested in Ladysmith for possession of drugs with an estimated street value of R1 400.

“Cash and 27 straws of heroin were seized. The suspect is set to appear in the Ladysmith Magistrate's Court on Monday.”

He said two more men were arrested in Ezakheni.

“The suspects were arrested at their house and were found in possession of cash, 64 mandrax tablets and 86 straws of heroin. The estimated street value of the drugs is around R8 000.”

Another man was also arrested in Ezakheni for possession of dagga with an estimated street value of R500.

“Property suspected to have been stolen was also seized at his home,” Naicker said.

The man was charged with possession of dagga and the possession of suspected stolen property.

The three men were expected to appear in the Ezakheni Magistrate's Court on Monday.
