Four arrested for Khayelitsha robbery

Cape Town – Western Cape police have arrested four suspects following an armed robbery in Enkanini informal settlement in Khayelitsha.

The robbery occurred on Thursday while the victims were conducting promotional activities in Enkanini, the SA Police Service (SAPS) said in a statement on Saturday.

The victims were robbed of their vehicle, promotional material, laptop, iPads and personal belongings.

The vehicle was recovered abandoned in Kuyasa, Khayelitsha, but the items were missing.

Police, with the assistance of the victims, subsequently identified one of the alleged robbers driving in a passing Toyota Tazz.

There were four occupants in the car.

When police tried to stop the car it sped off and a high-speed chase ensued.

All four suspects were positively identified by the victims and some of the items were still in their possession.

The suspects, from Khayelitsha and aged between 20 and 28, were arrested and are expected to appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
