Cape Town - Four men linked to the rape and murder of teenager Franziska Blöchliger, in March this year, are expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Friday.

In June, the case was postponed to allow for the compilation of cellphone evidence. The court was also made aware that the legal representation for accused number two, Jerome Moses, would now be handled to by attorney Kevin Pietersen.

Moses and accused number four Daniel Easter, were granted bail as they can only be linked to Blöchliger’s stolen cellphone. Accused number one has been linked through DNA results to Blöchliger’s rape.

Any bail application by accused number three would have been denied and was thus abandoned in the early stages of the case as he had failed to appear in court on another matter.

Blöchliger was found dead in Tokai forest in March following a late afternoon jog. Investigations and post-mortem results found that Blöchliger had been raped, had sand in her throat at the time of her death, and had ligature marks around her neck.
