Kimberley - Four people died when the vehicle they were travelling in veered off the road and rolled in Delportshoop, Northern Cape police said on Sunday.

“Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide and drunk driving. No arrests have been made yet,” spokesman Warrant Officer Mick Mocwane said.

The double cab bakkie was carrying 15 people who were on their way back from a wedding on Saturday. Some of the passengers were sitting in the back of the bakkie, Mocwane said.

Four people, including a one-year-old child, died instantly.

The driver and ten other passengers were taken to hospital for medical treatment.
