Limpopo – Four people were arrested on Monday in connection with a farm murder in Thabazimbi, Limpopo where a 60-year-old woman was shot dead and her 70-year-old husband wounded.

Police spokeswoman Colonel Ronel Otto said the four were arrested in Diepkloof, Soweto. Two of them, a domestic worker and her husband, were employees at the farm.

Two weeks ago, Bruno Res, 70, was shot in the arm and his wife Magrieta Petronella Res, 60, was shot in the head when three people overpowered them at their Thabazimbi game farm.

“The couple were welcoming a female friend at their farm when they were overpowered by unknown suspects. They demanded the safe keys before locking all three in a store room,” Otto said.

“In the process, the deceased was shot in the head and her husband in the arm. The suspects fled the scene.”

Firearms were taken from the safe, she said.

The four suspects would appear in the Thabazimbi Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday to face charges of murder, attempted murder and robbery.

Otto said the search for more suspects involved in the crime continued.
