Four men arrested in connection with the murder of gay club owner Bruno Bronn are to appear in the Cape Town Magistrate's Court on Monday.
Bronn, 50, who owned the Bronx nightclub, was found dead by his domestic worker shortly before 9am on Tuesday.
He was found on his back on the floor with his hands tied with tape in front of him. He had marks around his neck. It was not known whether anything was taken from the house on Ocean View drive.
On Saturday morning, two men were charged with Bronn’s murder, Western Cape police said.
Warrant Officer November Filander said a 36-year-old man was arrested around 10am on Saturday in Bo-Kaap, Cape Town.
A second man, 29, from Salt River was questioned for his role and also arrested, he said.
Late on Saturday, a 35-year-old man was nabbed in Albow Gardens, Brooklyn.
Bronn’s stolen BMW stolen was then traced to a complex in Parklands, Milnerton, said Filander.
On Sunday, a man was arrested in Goodwood around 10.30am in a joint operation between police and the metro police's substance abuse unit.
The man's car was also seized as police suspected it was used to help commit the crime, he said.
Filander said the four would initially be charged with murder, but that other charges could be added as investigations continued.
No further details were available as the investigation was at a sensitive stage, he said. - Sapa

Some thoughts on why we don't have the death penalty in this country (or most other civilised countries) because: 1) that is called revenge and the law cannot be dealing with revenge. It's why we have the law ... to stop wild west style revenge killings. Allowing the State to do it systematically, doesn't mean it isn't still cold-blooded revenge. 2) if you are religious (as some of you seem to be), the books says thou shalt not kill. Fullstop. 3) There is actually no proof from comprehensive studies the world over that the death penalty is a deterrent. None at all. That's a fact. Which brings us back to "the guy really deserved it" and that's just old-fashioned cold-blooded revenge again. A thirst for the blood of anyone really doesn't make you any different from the murderer. Your motives may be different, but it's still murder no matter how much you may think the guy deserves it.

Dont forget people, the lord works in strange ways. For every bad action you do, you will recieve a bad, whether in this world or the world hereafter. So maybe its time that we live a righteous life like the people in the past and also punish like the people in the past

tell me why we don't have the death penalty again in this country? convicted murderers deserve no less a punishment than death itself.

Actually, it should read: "Bronn'stolen BMW was then traced to a complex in Parklands, Milnerton," said Philander.

Please fix the grammar: "Bronn’s stolen BMW stolen was then traced to a complex in Parklands, Milnerton, said Filander"
