Free State - The Sasolburg Magistrate’s Court has sentenced a man to life in prison for robbery and two counts of rape, Free State police said on Friday.
Molahlehi Moropodi, 25, was part of a group that robbed a 19-year-old woman and her friend at knife point in August last year. Along with three others, he took turns in raping the woman.
He was sentenced to 15 years for robbery, life imprisonment for rape and a further 10 years for the second count of rape.
His two accomplices had earlier pleaded guilty and were sentenced to 15 years in jail. Moropodi had pleaded not guilty.
