A man who escaped from police custody has been rearrested in Doornkop, Soweto, Gauteng police said on Friday.

The 23-year-old man escaped from Jabulani Police Station on October 31, while awaiting trial on a charge of rape, said Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela.

He was rearrested on Thursday night and would appear in the Protea Magistrate's Court on Monday on the rape charge and a count of escaping from police custody. – Sapa
