Prosecutors were finally in possession of documentation requesting the extradition of Serbian fugitive Dobrosav Gavric to his home country, the Cape Town Magistrate's Court heard on Monday.

The documents had been processed by the home affairs department and would be handed to Gavric's lawyers, State advocate Dave Damerell told the court.

Magistrate Joe Magele set down Gavric's extradition proceedings for Friday.

Gavric made a second appearance in the same court on Monday, before Magistrate Jasthree Steyn on fraud charges.

He allegedly entered South Africa on a false passport and then obtained a trader's license as well as a driver's licence under a false name.

This matter was also postponed to Friday. – Sapa
