Kimberley - The wife of Danish national, Peter Frederiksen, was gunned down as she was about to leave her house at Naledi, Maseru, in Lesotho on Tuesday evening.

Anna Matseliso Molise, 28 was the key witness in her husband’s case of mutilating women genitals and storing them in his freezer at his house in Bloemfontein.

She was shot four times on the upper body and died on Wednesday at the Tshepong Hospital in Maseru.

Molise was last seen in Bloemfontein on September 28, at Frederiksen’s business, Impala Arms, where she was gathering bags containing female and children’s clothes with the Investigating Officer, Lynda Steyn. She then left in a car with people believed to be family members.

At the time Steyn said that while Molise was fearing for her life, she chose not be taken to a safe house, as this would prevent her from seeing her two children.

Molise reportedly alerted police to the collection of female genitalia stored in the freezer after her husband allegedly drugged and mutilated her.

The National Head of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation, Lieutenant General Mthandazo Ntlemeza, said he was saddened by the brutal death of Molise.

“She was a key witness in our cases against Frederiksen. We suspected that something might happen and we offered her witness protection but she refused. Despite this setback we are committed to doing everything in our power to bring justice to the women who were alleged victims of the accused”, Ntlemeza added.

Molise was the main complainant in three charges of assault with the intent to grievous bodily harm (GBH). Frederiksen also faces one charge of assault GBH involving a minor, as well as the possession and manufacturing of child pornography, the removal of human tissue in contravention of the Health Act and bigamy.

While Frederiksen’s case was remanded in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court to December 7 for further investigation and for forensic sample examinations to be completed, Hawks spokesman, Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi, yesterday said that he is next expected to return to court on November 4.
