Eastern Cape - A 12-year-old girl has been abducted on her way to school in Thoboshane Village near Butterworth in the Eastern Cape, police said on Monday.

Captain Jackson Manatha said Zimkhitha Zibi was last seen by her 62-year-old grandmother on February 7, when she left for school. She never returned home.

She was reported missing at the Butterworth police station on February 8.

Manatha said a docket was opened on Sunday after her grandmother received information that a man believed to be Zimkhitha's uncle had abducted her.

“No arrest has been made and the police are looking for a man only known as Plas White to help them in the kidnapping case,” Manatha said. - Sapa
