Bloemfontein - The murder trial of a 17-year-old youth accused of killing the Steenkamp family of Griquatown has been postponed to March.
On Thursday, Northern Cape Judge President Frans Kgomo postponed the matter to March 18, said National Prosecuting Authority Northern Cape spokesman Mashudu Malabi.
The postponement came after the youth ended the mandate of his legal counsel this week.
Advocates Willem Coetzee and Sharon Erasmus had withdrawn from the case. They were instructed by attorney Stoffel de Jager.
Earlier, the Volksblad newspaper reported that the youth’s guardian had said there were insurmountable differences between him and the legal team.
The application for a postponement was filed by the youth’s new lawyer Riaan Bode.
