Durban - A security guard was shot at a premises in Pinetown, near Durban, early on Monday.
ER24 spokeswoman Chitra Bodasing Harduth said ER24 and other services attended the scene.
The patient, believed to be 46 years of age, had been shot in the right leg and chest.
He was treated on the scene and transported to hospital for further care.
Authorities were investigating the incident.
