Ballito - Murdered Ballito gym instructor Craig Hall’s family said their final farewells at his funeral on Thursday, but without any answers as to how or why the 21-year-old was killed.

The service at the All Saints Church in the North Coast town was attended by hundreds of mourners, including Hall’s school friends from Glenwood High and many of his colleagues from the gym where he worked.

His friends spoke about their memories, saying he was a happy person who was a friend to everyone.

After the service Hall’s family and friends released white balloons outside the church.

His father, Doug Hall, thanked the Ballito community for their emotional support during a very difficult time.

He said his son was in heaven and “had probably gone fishing”.

SAPS spokesman Thulani Zwane said the investigation was continuing, but no arrests had been made.

Hall went missing from his family home in Ballito last week and was found dead at the old Greenfields service station site at the weekend.

It was originally reported that he was stabbed to death, but private investigator Brad Nathanson, who was hired by the family to investigate the case, told The Mercury that he had been shot twice in the back of the head.

Zwane said he could not confirm the cause of death. - The Mercury
