Cape Town - A 27-year-old man believed to be linked to the murder of Cape Town metro police Constable Ben Koopman, 53, was arrested on Friday in Kleinvlei, Cape Town, the Western Cape Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks) said.

“Koopman was allegedly ambushed by two unknown suspects in February this year while walking towards his official vehicle outside his residence in Eerste River. His service pistol and a two-way radio were apparently stolen following the attack,” Captain Lloyd Ramovha said.

The man was expected to appear in the Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court on Monday on a charge of murder.
