Nelspruit - A former preparatory school headmaster accused of possession of child pornography will go on trial in August, the Nelspruit Regional Court decided on Tuesday.

The man, who cannot be named until he has pleaded, would go on trial on August 26, a Sapa correspondent reported.

He was previously granted bail of R1000.

The man was one of six people arrested in various provinces after being implicated in an international child pornography ring.

The board of the school where the man was employed took a decision to fire him after his first court appearance. The man was also believed to be an award-winning author.
