One of the five men arrested in connection with the murder of Pretoria mother Channelle Henning was denied bail in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court on Friday.
Magistrate Kiro Pillay turned down Andre Gouws' bid to be released on bail.
She said Gouws failed to convince the court of the existence of exceptional circumstances required by law to warrant his release.
Gouws will be back in court on March 29, together with two of his co-accused, Ambrose Monye and Preshan Singh.
Singh, who admitted to providing the firearm used to commit the murder, is out on R5 000 bail.
Monye, a former Nigerian Olympics athlete, is in police custody after he abandoned his bail bid.
Henning was shot by two men on a motorbike after dropping off her child at a nursery school in Faerie Glen, Pretoria, on November 8 last year.
Earlier this month, prosecutor Gerrie Nel contended that a number of coincidences placed Gouws in the conspiracy that led to Henning's assassination.
During the bail hearing, the court heard that cellphone records placed Gouws near Henning's home a number of times prior to her murder. – Sapa
