Cape Town – KwaDukuza police on Tuesday requested the public’s assistance in finding two suspects who managed to escape from their police cell during meal time.
KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Shooz Magudulela said the two male suspects, 28-year-old theft suspect Snowy Maharaj and 25-year-old robbery suspect Xolani Ngubane, managed to escape their cell on Sunday May 29 at about 5:15pm.
According to the police, officers were providing prisoners with food when the two suspects overpowered the officers and escaped.
“They are considered as dangerous and the community is urged not to try to apprehend them by themselves,” said Magudulela.
Instead, he said, those who had any information about the suspects’ whereabouts could assist police in the rearrest by contacting KwaDukuza police on 031 551 8200.
