Bloemfontein – A 42-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his wife to death, police said in a statement on Friday.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Mmako Mophiring said police were called to the couple's home in Mabolela Village, QwaQwa in the early hours of December 29.
The body of the 33-year-old was discovered in the yard.
She had been stabbed multiple times and also had head injuries. Mophiring said the husband claimed he had returned home at midnight to find the front door wide open and his dead wife lying outside.
He said police discovered evidence inside the house, and subsequently arrested the husband.
He is expected to appear in the Tseki Magistrate's Court on Monday on a charge of murder.
