Cape Town - The Knysna Magistrate's Court has sentenced a drug dealer to four years' imprisonment, police said on Monday.

Allistar Galant was sentenced on Friday to eight years' imprisonment of which four years were suspended for five years, Captain Malcolm Pojie said.

In December, the directorate of priority crime investigation's organised crime unit based in George conducted several sting operations at Galant's house in Knysna after complaints and information were received, he said.

“Subsequent to the actions launched at the residence, police confiscated 20 units of cocaine rocks and four straws of tik.”

Galant was arrested on December 29 and charged for dealing in illegal drugs.
