Johannesburg - Radovan Krejcir’s son Dennis has also been implicated in a violent, multimillion-rand scheme to bust his father out of Zonderwater Prison.

The Star reported earlier this month how police had detailed the escape plot during the bail application of Solly Metlae, a Zonderwater Correctional Services officer, and Sandile Mdumbe, a parolee, criminally charged for assisting with the plot.

Colonel Bongani Gininda took the stand to argue against Mdumbe’s bail application, and revealed that a group of men wielding R4 rifles would storm Zonderwater Prison, “extract” Krejcir and take him to a safe house in Mamelodi, near Pretoria.

From there, a series of planned executions were set to take place in the area to keep police occupied while Krejcir escaped.

On Thursday, however, the bail application continued in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court, and Gininda revealed that Krejcir’s son Dennis had been in phone contact with the undercover officers where he offered to pay them millions of rand to help with the escape plot.

During Krejcir’s bail application for the crime last year, Dennis was also named by the State as a suspect in the murder of alleged Bedfordview drug dealer Sam Issa.

However, Dennis is prevented from returning to South Africa by the Department of Home Affairs following a visit to the Czech Republic.

The bail proceedings will continue on June 10.
