Johannesburg - The trial of Czech fugitive Radovan Krejcir and five others was postponed in the High Court in Johannesburg, sitting in Palm Ridge, on Monday.

The matter was postponed to Tuesday because Annelene van den Heever, counsel for Krejcir, was sick.

During Monday's brief proceedings, Krejcir wore jeans and a black leather jacket. He spoke to his co-accused while facing two cameramen before proceedings.

None of his family members were in court. When his wife Katerina Krejcirova and son rushed into the court gallery, Krejcir and his co-accused had already left the courtroom.

Krejcir, Desai Luphondo, warrant officers Samuel Maropeng and George Nthoroane, Jan Lefu Mofokeng, and Siboniso Miya are charged with kidnapping, assault, and attempted murder. They also face charges of dealing in drugs. All six men have pleaded not guilty. - Sapa
