Johannesburg - The man allegedly kidnapped and assaulted by Czech fugitive Radovan Krejcir and five others on Wednesday said he could not recall whether his captors had threatened him.
“I can't remember,” Bheki Lukhele told the High Court in Johannesburg, sitting in Palm Ridge.
“They told me to go and never look back,” he said through an interpreter.
This was after he had been dropped off near a stadium in Katlehong after four days of being held captive.
He told the court he walked back home where he found his parents were happy to see him return.
“They could see my injuries,” he said in a soft tone.
Lukhele has testified that he was taken from his home in June last year. He was then assaulted and boiling water was poured over his head, allegedly by Krejcir.
Krejcir, Desai Luphondo, warrant officers Samuel Modise Maropeng and George Nthoroane, Jan Lefu Mofokeng, and Siboniso Miya are charged with kidnapping, assault, and attempted murder of Lukhele, allegedly in a bid to make him reveal his brother Doctor's whereabouts.
Doctor allegedly disappeared with 25kg of crystal methamphetamine (tik).
Doctor worked for a cargo company at OR Tambo International Airport and had been tasked with transporting the drug to Australia, allegedly for Krejcir.
All six have pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Throughout Wednesday's proceedings, Annelene van den Heever, for Krejcir, attempted to discredit Lukhele's testimony.
Cross-examining Lukhele, she pointed out that there were some factors that had been omitted from his statement which he had revealed to the court.
In one of his three statements, Lukhele claimed his mouth was “sellotaped” shut.
This was not mentioned in his evidence-in-chief.
In another part of his statement, Lukhele said he begged Krejcir not to kill him.
This was also not mentioned in his statement.
Lukhele was the second State witness to testify in the trial which is in its second week.
