KZN cops nab three murder suspects

Durban - Three murder suspects have been arrested in KwaMashu, Kwazulu-Natal police said in a statement on Tuesday.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane said police conducted a raid at the weekend.

Two of the suspects face murder charges for the killing of 21-year-old Nkanyiso Shezi. He was allegedly approached by the two men on July 17 in the Siyanda area.

“After an argument, it is alleged that the victim was assaulted and stabbed by the suspects. He died at the scene and a case of murder was opened for further investigation at KwaMashu police station. Two suspects, aged 27 and 30, were linked to the murder case.”

The third suspect was arrested for allegedly murdering 23-year-old Deon Ngubane.

“The second murder case was reported at Mabaleng tavern on 3 July 2016 at about 3.00 where Deon Ntokozo Ngubane was stabbed to death. It is alleged that the victim had an argument with the 31-year-old suspect and the suspect stabbed the victim on the body . The victim sustained two stab wounds on the chest and one at the back. He was rushed to a local clinic where he later died.”

Zwane said the trio will appear in the Ntumuza Magistrate’s Court on September 5.
