Johannesburg – The Camperdown Regional Court convicted and sentenced a 37-year-old man to 20 years imprisonment for the rape of his daughter, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Friday.

Spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane said on December 25, 2013, at around 11pm a 13-year-old girl was called by her father, who stayed not far away from her house, because there was a herbalist who was going to heal the family.

“The daughter and the mother was lying sick at home. When the victim arrived he ordered her to go to his room and raped her. The victim told her aunt who reported the matter to the Inchanga SAPS and the case was transferred to Pinetown Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) for further investigations which resulted to the arrest of the accused,” Zwane said.

He made several appearance in court until he was sentenced and convicted on Wednesday.
