Johannesburg – Members of the Directorate for Priority Crime (the Hawks) have arrested a seventh suspect in connection with the execution-style killings of four family members in Lawley, on Gauteng's West Rand, earlier this year.

On Tuesday, Hawks spokesperson Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said the 35-year-old man would be charged along with six others for the killings on the West Rand.

The suspects allegedly stormed the family's home, killing Hlengiwe Mkhize, 40, her daughter Samkelisiwe Mkhize-Dlamini, 19, son Siyabonga Mkhize-Dlamini, 21, and his wife Gwen Mncube, 19. Mkhize's husband, Bongani Dlamini, survived the attack, but had to be treated for gunshot wounds to his arm.

At the time of the murders, police said they did not know the motive for the attack. The 35-year-old suspect will appear in court soon.
