An Eastern Cape man was jailed for life on Friday for armed robbery and murder by the East London High Court, police said.

Mpumelelo Koti, 36, was found guilty on charges of armed robbery, murder and illegal possession of a firearm, said police spokesman Lt-Col Mtati Tana.

Koti and two others robbed a convenience store at a service station in 2011.

While making their escape, they shot and killed a man in the parking area. - Sapa
