Johannesburg -

George Louca, who is accused of killing strip club owner Lolly Jackson, appeared under heavy police guard in the Kempton Park Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

The matter was postponed to March 7.

Louca, who had fled to Cyprus shortly after Jackson's murder in May 2010, was dressed in a striped, long-sleeved shirt and blue jeans.

Journalists and the public had to leave the court before Louca's brief appearance for the police to perform a security sweep.

Four heavily-armed, camouflaged Special Task Force members accompanied Louca when he appeared in the dock.

Louca, who is allegedly linked to the country's underworld, was successfully extradited from Cyprus and brought back to South Africa earlier this month.

He is facing charges of murder, money-laundering and being in possession of stolen goods. - Sapa
