Man accused of beating mom to death

Port Elizabeth - The case of a man accused of killing his 70-year-old mother was postponed in the Centane Magistrate's Court, Eastern Cape police said on Wednesday.

The 46-year-old Mphuthumi Shweni appeared briefly in court on Tuesday, Captain Jackson Manatha said.

The matter was postponed to April 14 and Shweni was kept in custody.

Shweni allegedly kicked and slammed Nolungile Nibe against a wall at her house in Qolorha village on Monday, killing her.
