Johannesburg - A man arrested in connection with the kidnapping and murder of a girl from Relela outside Tzaneen in Limpopo appeared in the Ritavi Magistrate's Court on Thursday, said police.
Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said 39-year-old Ernest Kgashane was officially charged with the kidnapping and murder of 15-year-old Kgomotso Ragolane.
“Ragolane's body, whose hands were chopped off, was found by a passer-by at Mandlakazi village on January 24,” said Mulaudzi.
Preliminary investigations had linked the man to two other cases of rape committed in 2007 and 2013.
“It is expected that the cases will be added in his next appearance,” said Mulaudzi.
The case returns to court on April 23.
