Johannesburg - A man was arrested for allegedly raping and murdering his girlfriend in Letsopa in Ottosdal, North West police said on Wednesday.
It was believed the 36-year-old man visited his 41-year-old girlfriend at her home on Tuesday evening, where the girlfriend told her father she was going out with the boyfriend, said Colonel Emelda Setlhako.
“This (Wednesday) morning when the father woke up and went outside; he found his daughter lying outside with a wound on her head and without underwear.”
The father contacted police, who went to the boyfriend's home where they found bloodstains on a pair of shoes allegedly belonging to the boyfriend. The boyfriend was then arrested.
He was expected to appear in the Ottosdal Magistrate's Court on Tuesday. -Sapa
