A Soweto man has confessed to beating his girlfriend to death, police said on Monday morning.
“A man was arrested for attempted rape… At the police station he informed the police he had locked his girlfriend in the house and that he had beaten her to death,” said Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela.
“The police went back to his house and they found the girl on the floor, dead.”
Makhubela said another woman had laid a charge of attempted rape against the 32-year-old man on Sunday.
The police traced him to his house in Moletsane, Soweto, in the early hours of Monday morning and arrested him for attempted rape, after which he confessed to killing his 22-year-old girlfriend. - Sapa
