Cape Town - Police have arrested a man after they found 90 stolen cellphones in his luggage at Cape Town International Airport.

Police spokesman Captain FC van Wyk said the 31-year-old Burundian man had been profiled by police on Tuesday.

After they searched his luggage, they found the haul of smartphones.

There were also five digital cameras, an iPad and two iPods.

“It had an estimated street value of R104 327,” said Van Wyk.

Six of the cellphones seized have been linked to robbery cases.

The man was set to appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court, facing charges of robbery and possession of stolen property.
