Uitenhage - A 40-year-old man was arrested in Uitenhage on Friday for dealing in dagga, Eastern Cape police said.

He was caught in a roadblock with 151kg of dagga, said Warrant Officer Gerda Swart.

“Police stopped a blue Ford Bantam bakkie. It was stacked with bags containing dagga.”

Police seized the dagga, worth about R300 000 on the street.

The man would appear soon in the Uitenhage Magistrate's Court.

Eastern Cape provincial commissioner Lt-Gen Celiwe Binta said police in the province were making every effort to rid communities of drugs.
