Cape Town - A 26-year-old man was arrested in Mitchells Plain for possession of mandrax.
The man was arrested in Eastridge by the Mitchells Plain tactical response team “for possession of a large quantity of mandrax with a street value of R 7,750 on Wednesday,” Western Cape police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk said on Friday.
“On Wednesday, at about 1:45pm, [tactical response] members were doing a routine vehicle patrol in Zebra Street, Eastridge when they spotted a suspicious looking man in the street,” he said
“When the suspect noticed the members approaching, he ran down the street and our members chased after him on foot. The suspect was apprehended and members confiscated 155 mandrax tablets inside a plastic bag.”
The suspect was expected to appear in the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s Court soon on charges related to possession of mandrax.
