Johannesburg - A man was arrested in Katlehong on the East Rand after being found in possession of three stolen vehicles and fraudulent documents, metro police said on Friday.
“The suspect was pounced upon at his parents' place, where three stolen vehicles and official documents were found,” said Chief Superintendent Wilfred Kgasago.
The arrest on Thursday came after police stopped a vehicle that had a fake licence disk.
“The driver assisted the metro police with information of the person who issued him with the fake licence disc,” said Kgasago.
Metro police found the suspect at his parents' home.
Police found two cars, one of which was registered as stolen in December 2012, and a motorbike in his garage.
“A total of 1530 blank registration documents, a licensing rubber stamp, five fraudulent number plates and two completed registration documents were also found in the garage.”
The 30-year-old man was expected to appear before the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court on Monday. - Sapa
