Cape Town - A man was shot dead and another was seriously wounded in a drive-by shooting in Muizenberg on Tuesday.
Police spokesman Lieutenant- Colonel Andre Traut said the shooting took place at about 2.35pm in Prince George Drive in Muizenberg, close to the Vrygrond informal settlement.
He said a man was fatally wounded and another was taken to hospital.
The names and ages of the victims could not be confirmed.
Traut said the motive for the shooting was yet to be established and no arrests had been made.
However, residents believed that the shooting was related to taxi violence.
Community activist Clive Jacobs, who lives in Prince George Drive, said that the three major taxi associations operating in the area were feuding.
Jacobs said the taxi war had been going on for several weeks and had caused disruption to commuters and local residents.
Residents were concerned it could escalate.
