Johannesburg – A 41-year-old suspect is expected to appear in the Rustenburg Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday for allegedly raping a 28-year-old woman, police said.
South African Police Service spokesperson, Sergeant Kelebogile Moleko, said: “According to information received, the victim, her cousin and the cousin’s boyfriend were enjoying drinks at her place”.
Moleko said the cousin left the 28-year-old’s place accompanied by her boyfriend, but he later returned.
“He allegedly assaulted the victim, strangled and raped her,” Moleko said.
The matter was reported to the police, and the suspect was traced and arrested. He will appear in court on Tuesday 3 May.
