Ekurhuleni - A man believed to be in his 50s was found dead in a car on the corner of Van Buuren and Van der Linde roads in Bedfordview in Ekurhuleni late on Friday night, paramedics said.
ER24 paramedics found the man in the front seat of the car, with the driver's window rolled down at about 11:20pm, ER24 spokesperson Annine Siddall said on Saturday.
The back windows of the car were broken. The man was unresponsive and had sustained a gunshot wound to his chest. It also appeared that he had been strangled.
"There was nothing paramedics could to to save the patient and he was declared dead on the scene. No form of identification was found and local authorities will conduct an investigation," Siddall said.
