Johannesburg - A Vietnamese man allegedly found in possession of three rhino horns will appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate's Court on Monday.

The 25-year-old suspect, That Thai Dung, was arrested at OR Tambo International Airport on April 22, when the horns were found in an item of luggage.

Dung was leaving South Africa when his bags were searched by the Hawks, Airports Company SA officials and the South African Revenue Service (Sars).

“The man has travelled to South Africa before and he was being closely monitored when he was arrested,” Sars spokesperson Adrian Lackay said earlier.

He said Dung faced various charges, including contravening the Customs and Excise Act. - Sapa
