A man has been arrested after an armed robbery at the KFC in Nelson Mandela Drive in Mthatha, police said on Wednesday.
On Tuesday night at about 10pm two men robbed the KFC at gunpoint. One man was arrested as they made their way to the getaway vehicle, said Lieutenant-Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela.
“A man got away, but we are following up on the leads. We recovered all the money and a firearm. We also recovered money taken in another robbery.”
Fatyela said the 24-year-old man will be formally charged on Wednesday and will appear soon in the Mthatha Magistrate's Court. – Sapa
