Johannesburg - A man was arrested in Zondi, Soweto, for allegedly stealing a bakkie, Gauteng police said on Wednesday.

The 54-year-old allegedly stole a white Isuzu bakkie in Witpoortjie, Roodepoort on Tuesday, Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said.

He was arrested later on Tuesday night, after police received a tip off that he was seen driving the vehicle in Zondi.

The 54-year-old was found after police managed to locate the vehicle's tracker system.

“He was arrested and the bakkie was taken to a police camp in Lenasia,” said Makhubela.

The man would appear in the Protea Magistrate's Court soon. - Sapa
