Man held for cable theft

Queenstown - A man has been arrested after being found in possession of stolen Telkom copper cables worth R60 000 in Queenstown, Eastern Cape police said on Wednesday.

The 48-year-old was caught allegedly trying to sell the cables at a scrap yard on Tuesday, Lieutenant Pumzile Makaula said.

The cables were stolen in Elliot. The man was transferred to the Elliot police station and would appear in the local magistrate's court on Thursday. - Sapa
