Port Elizabeth - A 19-year-old man accused of murder was arrested in Hankey on Thursday, Eastern Cape police said.

The man handed himself over to police after the body of a 14-year-old boy was found near an irrigation canal on Tuesday, said Warrant Officer Basil Seekoei.

“The motive of the killing is unknown at this stage but there are indications that the suspect is known to the victim.”

The man would appear in the Hankey Magistrate's Court on Friday, said Seekoei.
