Barberton, Mpumalanga -

A 27-year-old Swazi national has been arrested for allegedly growing and dealing in dagga, Mpumalanga police said on Monday.

Police officers patrolling the Vunani compound spotted the dagga field in Low's Creek near Barberton on Monday, said Colonel Leonard Hlathi.

“They then searched the property, arrested the suspect, who was in possession of dagga worth R700 and uprooted 568 dagga plants estimated at about R189 000” .

The man is due to appear in the Barberton Magistrate's Court on Tuesday. - Sapa
