Limpopo - A 27-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping a woman student in Moutse, Limpopo police said on Tuesday.

The 20-year-old victim was walking home alone from her college when she was attacked last month, spokesman Constable Lethunya Mmuroa said.

“She was raped inside the bushes at Mokgwaneng village, and later reported the incident to the police.”

The man was arrested in Senotlelo village, Mpumalanga, on Sunday night.

“The suspect is well-known to the victim and the community. Police had been looking for him since last month.”

He is expected to appear in the Moutse Magistrate's Court to face a charge of rape.
