Durban - A man has been arrested for allegedly robbing a petrol station at the Gateway mall, Durban, on Friday, KwaZulu-Natal police said.

Three men arrived at the petrol station and robbed staff of an undisclosed amount of cash at gunpoint around 2.30pm, Colonel Jay Naicker said.

No one was injured and no shots were fired. The men then fled the scene. Police caught one man in nearby bushes and found him in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

The 25-year-old would appear in the Verulam Magistrate's Court soon on charges of business robbery, possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. The other two were still at large.
