Johannesburg - A man was arrested on Monday afternoon for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl in Zola, Soweto, Gauteng police said.
“This happened several times since December (last year). He used to give her money after raping her,” Warrant Officer Kay Makhubele said.
Makhubele said the man, 40, raped her again on Saturday in his backyard room. She told her mother about the incident on Sunday.
He said the man lived in the same area.
The girl's mother went to report the matter to the police and the man was taken into custody.
He would appear in the Protea Magistrate's Court on Wednesday. - Sapa
